Adams County residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at multiple locations throughout the county.
This nationwide initiative, held twice a year, provides a secure, convenient, and responsible way to remove potentially dangerous drugs from homes and help prevent misuse. Locally, several drop-off sites will be available:
- Adams County Courthouse, 111 Baltimore St., Gettysburg
- Adams County Human Services Building, 525 Boyds School Rd., Gettysburg
- Gettysburg Borough Police Department, 59 E High St., Gettysburg
- PA State Police Barracks, 1750 Granite Station Rd., Gettysburg
- Carroll Valley Police Department, 5685 Fairfield Rd., Fairfield
The Drug Take Back Day program aims to reduce prescription drug abuse and environmental hazards posed by improper disposal. Community members are encouraged to clean out their medicine cabinets and participate in this effort to support public health and safety.
Drop-offs are anonymous. For more information, visit the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) website.
