Thursday February 1-February 29 – Ansel Adams Photographs     Schmucker Art Gallery

Curated by Gettysburg College students Emma Wylan ’24 and Sophia Crawford ’24 under the direction of Interim Gallery Director Kate Gillespie, the photographs of Ansel Adams, one of America’s most well-known photographers, document the Manzanar Relocation Center in 1943. Considered an important historical document, this exhibit features 50 prints that depict the Japanese-Americans and details the everyday life of these internees. Free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10 am-4 pm.

Friday February 2 at 7:00 pm – Poetry First Friday                           Ragged Edge Coffee House

The Poetry First Friday Series welcomes poets from Wisteria, the Hood College Literary Magazine to Gettysburg.  Open mic begins at 7:00 pm followed by readings from Hood College poets. Grab some coffee or delicious baked goods before joining the group on the second floor. Free and open to the public. Check the Facebook page of the Ragged Edge for more details.

February 2-11 – Cabaret                                                        Gettysburg Community Theatre

GCT presents Kander and Ebb’s musical set in Berlin complete with a live band on stage.  Performances are February 2,3,9,10 at 7 pm and February 4,11 at 2 pm. The original show made Liza Minnelli a star! Tickets are available online for $20 or $25 at the door if there are any seats left. Friday February 2 at 5:00 pm – First Friday Reception         Adams County Arts Council

Come and meet the artists whose work is displayed in the Arts Council building this month. Artwork by Wanda Snader Dehan, Gettysburg Area High School students of Julie Myers, Ophelia Chambliss, and Collective Rogue Art are all waiting to be viewed. Saturday February 3 at 3:00 pm – Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live             Majestic Theater

Bring the entire family “to observe, meet and interact with an eye-popping collection of amazingly life-like dinosaurs and other creatures presented in a theatrical performance that will thrill and entertain kids while stimulating their imaginations.”   A great way to introduce your young ones to the theater! Sunday February 4 at 4:00 pm – Jocelyn Swigger, Pianist    United Lutheran Seminary Chapel Music Gettysburg presents Sunderman Conservatory professor Dr. Jocelyn Swigger as she performs riveting music, including some premieres, written by the astonishing 19th century composer Agnes Tyrrell.   Free admission, free parking and donations are gratefully accepted.  www.musicgettysburg.org

Thursday February 8 at 7:30 pm – Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo   Majestic Theater

This company of professional male dancers performs the full range of ballet and modern dance repertoire, including classical and original works in faithful renditions. Saturday February 10 at 8:00 pm – Joshua Redman Group             Gettysburg College

The Sunderman Chamber Music Concert Series presents world renowned jazz tenor saxophonist Joshua Redman with his jazz quartet, featuring vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa on their “where are we” Tour. Monday February 12 at Noon and 7 pm – National Theatre Live: Romeo and Juliet   Majestic

Sunday February 18 at 3 pm Wind Symphony Family Pops Concert         Majestic Theater

Under the baton of conductor Dr. Russell McCutcheon, this Sunderman Conservatory ensemble will perform a delightful concert for the young and young at heart.  Tickets are $5 for adults and free for those under age 18 or with a Gettysburg College ID.   www.gettysburgmajestic.org

Saturday February 24 at 8 pm – Sunderman Conservatory Jazz Ensemble    Majestic Theater

Monday February 26 at Noon – Notes at Noon   Musselman Library Apse/Gettysburg College

Enjoy the Sunderman Wind Quintet performing works by Milhaud, Barber, Molnar-Suhajda, and Deslandres in the apse of the College Library. The quintet is comprised of five studio professors (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn) who create a wonderful palette sound together. Monday February 26 at Noon and 7 pm – Titanic: The Musical                   Majestic Theater

Thursday February 29 at 7:30 pm – Steel Magnolias     Kline Theatre/Gettysburg College

Gail Jones has enjoyed a twenty-five-year career as a music educator in Pennsylvania and Maryland public schools as well as teaching music education methods at Gettysburg College for over a decade. She has also served as a guest conductor, French horn player, and private music instructor.

Gail has a deep appreciation for live music performances of all genres and encourages Adams County residents to attend the many concerts offered in our community.
