Every year the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree attracts thousands of generous Adams Countians to a day-long celebration of community philanthropy.
This year, out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic, donors are completing their Giving Spree gifts online, through the mail, and, for the first time, participating in “curbside giving” on the afternoon of the Giving Spree, November 5 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Donors will drive up to the Gettysburg Area High School and hand their completed contribution form and check to waiting volunteers, who will personally thank each donor and cheer them on.
Donors may choose among 90 organizations to receive their gift, including human services, cultural and educational institutions. Another innovation in 2020 is the “forever gift” option: Any donation may be designated for permanent endowment to support the selected nonprofit for decades to come.
The 2020 Giving Spree is expected to surpass the $1.273 million raised during the 2019 Giving Spree.
