Grab your picnic blanket or a lawn chair on Saturday, September 11th or Sunday, September 12th and head on over to Alloway Creek Elementary School for the Food Truck Frenzy.
Jennifer Myers, president of the ACES PTO, says that this is the second food truck fundraiser the school has hosted. The Spring 2021 event was a rousing success where most of the trucks sold out before the end of the day.
“Because of COVID last year, we really couldn’t hold events like we would normally,” said Myers. “This was something we had talked about previously that had been suggested to us. It was an outdoor event.”
Food may be the centerpiece of the event, but there will be other things to do. “We are having a DJ and a raffle. We’re going to have some fun lawn games for the kids to play,” Myers commented. “Since the one day is on 9/11, we are going to have an area where people, kids or adults, can make a card for a community service member.”
This fundraiser will provide funds for adding playground equipment and picnic tables for the school students. The food trucks will be giving 15% of the purchases from their trucks to the PTO.
Trucks that are in the line up for both days of the Frenzy include Beef It Up, Pretzel Lady, Alpha Fire Company, Maddie Ann’s Perogies, K&K Concessions, Sazon on Wheels, Kona Ice, Farmshow Milkshakes, and Savory’s Funnel Cakes.
On Saturday only, the truck line will have Bev’s Jamaican Cuisine and Wok Runner for selections. Food Adventures and Mac Stack will be available in the truck line only on Sunday.
Trucks will open to customers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both days will close up at 6:00 p.m.
This event will happen rain or shine and is open to the whole community. “You don’t have to have a kid in school to come out,” said Myers.
