Free workshop aims to help build career skills

Job seekers looking to strengthen their resumes, improve interview skills and expand their professional networks will have an opportunity to do so at a free career development workshop in Reading this week.

AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania, in partnership with PA CareerLink, will host the “Tips to Kick-Start Your Career: Tools for Tomorrow Job Readiness Workshop” on Wednesday, July 29.

The public workshop is designed to connect participants with job search resources while providing practical advice to help them compete in today’s job market.

Attendees will learn how to:

* Access job search assistance through PA CareerLink.
* Increase interview callbacks.
* Create stronger, more effective resumes.
* Use LinkedIn to apply for jobs and build professional networks.
* Improve interview skills.

The workshop will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Those attending in person are asked to arrive by 10 a.m. The session will be held at the AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania Wellness and Opportunity Center, 600 Penn St., Third Floor, Reading.

A virtual attendance option also will be available through Microsoft Teams beginning at 10:30 a.m., allowing participants to join remotely.

The workshop is open to the public and is intended to help people preparing to enter the workforce, change careers or sharpen their job search skills.
