As the summer draws to a close, users of the outdoor swimming pools and tennis courts located at the old Gettysburg Country Club, 730 Chambersburg Street, are wondering about the future use of the property for community recreation.
Jen Bubczyk, a partner in Cumberland Club Investment, LLC, which owns the property, said “the property has always been for sale,” although “we are not actively marketing it.”

“We do have an interested buyer.” We are “still in conversations” and the buyer is doing “due diligence” to determine “what they could do with the property,” said Bubczyk.
The pools are currently leased to the YWCA of Gettysburg and the tennis courts are leased to the Gettysburg Tennis & Yacht Club.
The pools, which closed for the season on Sunday, were used by YWCA members this summer and were also available to the public through a day pass system. The tennis courts are regularly used for games, tournaments, and lessons.
Richard Thrasher from the tennis club said the courts will remain open through the fall and that they “have never been in better shape.”
The Gettysburg Day Spa is also located on the property, although the restaurant on the property, Sidney Willoughby Run, recently closed.
