Gettysburg Area School District Assistant Principal Christine Lay gave a brief report of the first week of school at last night’s school board meeting:

“We made it through the first week of school. It was a great success. I’m happy to report that my observations walking through the buildings were that students were excited to be back in school and were very compliant with the health and safety measures that we have in place.
And Friday’s first remote day was a success overall. We had some glitches with students logging into devices. All those things considered it was a great first week.
We are collecting data on participation rates and compliance rates. “
Gettysburg Superintendent Jason Perrin amplified Lay’s Comments:
“It was as good of a first week as we could have expected to have,” said Perrin.
