GCCA is getting ready for the start of its 83rd season

The Gettysburg Community Concert Association (GCCA) starts its 83rd concert season on September 22, 2026, with a performance by Trio Eris. As New England Conservatory’s Professional Trio-in-Residence, this dynamic ensemble of K.J. McDonald (violin), Thomas Lim (cello), and Andrew Jun Chin (piano) is united by a shared love of communication through sound and the capacity of music to create and build community. Named after the Greek goddess of discord and strife, Trio Eris finds itself swept up in a whirlwind of activity.

On the evening of November 10, 2026, GCCA will welcome Yu&I Duo. YuEun Gemma Kim (violin) from Korea and Ines Thomé (guitar) from Germany are two musicians from different corners of the globe who share a passion for chamber music. Their repertoire spans the ages, from evocative renditions of early music performed on period instruments to innovative arrangements of popular music executed with the highest level of artistry.

On April 13, 2026, the Philadelphia Brass will delight Gettysburg with its virtuosity and artistry. Brian Kuszyk (trumpet), Steven Heitzer (trumpet), Anthony Cecere (horn), Robert Gale (trombone), and Scott Mendoker (tuba) are on a mission to perform the best of brass quintet literature from all periods and styles while educating the public to the pleasures, subtleties, and complexities of chamber music.

GCCA’s final concert of its 83rd season will feature the Salix Piano Trio (photo 4) on May 4, 2027. Joanna Maurer (violin), Alberto Parrini (cello), and Anna Stoytcheva (piano) founded the trio in 2023 in New York City out of a desire to explore the rich and vast piano trio canon. The name Salix comes from the group’s mutual love for the graceful and poetic weeping willow tree (Salix babylonica).

The Philadelphia Brass and the Salix Piano Trio will also be presenting student outreach programs at local schools.

All GCCA concerts will be held at 7:30 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. An annual membership subscription of $60 includes admission to the 4 concerts in Gettysburg as well as 10 more shows in Waynesboro (waynesboropaconcerts.com) and Hagerstown (hagerstowncommunityconcerts.org) through reciprocal concert association agreements. Music genres at partner concerts include classical, crossover, pop, rock, soul, country, folk, swing, and comedy. Admission is $20 at the door for individual GCCA concerts, but free for anyone under 19 (under 13 with an adult) and college students with an ID.

GCCA, a nonprofit formed in 1939 to cultivate an interest in music and dance, provides opportunities for its members to attend performances given by outstanding artists. A student outreach program was started in 2005. Funds are raised primarily through annual subscription memberships. The GCCA 2026–27 season is supported in part by funding from Pennsylvania Creative Industries, powered by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a State agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts; Adams Electric Cooperative, Inc.; Destination Gettysburg; Enbridge Fueling Futures; The Rice Family Foundation; and the Adams County Arts Council’s STAR Grant Program, which is funded by the Adams County Commissioners, the Borough of Gettysburg, and the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust.
