Gettysburg’s annual Memorial Day Free 5K, sponsored by Highmark Wholecare and Healthy Adams County, will be held on Monday, May 27th. The event will kick off at 8:00 a.m. at the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel.
The race is open to participants of all ages, with special encouragement for family participation. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to run but must be accompanied by an adult. These young runners will not leave empty-handed, as each child participant will be awarded a medal at the finish line.
Registration for the race can be completed online at runsignup.com or in person on race day, starting at 7:15 a.m. All participants are required to sign a waiver prior to the race, ensuring a safe and organized event for everyone involved.
This 5K features professional chip timing, an added bonus for any 5K, let alone a free one. The event is supported by loyal sponsors, including the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel and the Gettysburg Beer Runners. It was developed and is managed by Healthy Adams County’s Physical Fitness Task Force.
