Musket shots rang out in Gettysburg this weekend as filming began for the upcoming historical drama Gettysburg 1863. Production took place in front of the Shriver House Museum on Baltimore Street and at Flohrs Church in McKnightstown.
Baltimore St. was closed over the weekend as film crews surrounded the street and soldiers, horses, and townspeople—dressed in authentic Civil War attire—transformed Gettysburg back 162 years to 1863.

A section of the street was covered with several inches of mulch and dirt to create the experience of 1863.
Scenes included President Abraham Lincoln’s Baltimore Street procession on his way to the Soldiers’ National Cemetery, the delivery of the Gettysburg Address, and intense street fighting that once shook the town.
According to IMDB, the film stars Hannah Galway as Hannah Kelly, Eric Nelsen as Thomas McClean, Austin Greene as Gabe, Richard Klein as Abraham Lincoln, and Mason Rinaudo as Jacob.
The film is produced by Bo Brinkman, Andrew Dalton, and Kris Webb.
Filming will continue next year.
