Feb 3: Gettysburg vs. Northern

The Northern Polar Bears beat the Gettysburg Warriors on Friday, 65 to 56. Gavin Moyer was the high scorer for the Polar Bears with 25 points, while Tegan Kuhns and Josh Herr contributed 21 and 16 points respectively for the  Warriors.

Jan 27: Waynesboro 73, Gettysburg 53

Gettysburg boys lost to Waynesboro 73-53 on the road. Waynesboro used a big 2nd & 3rd Quarter to pull away after Gettysburg held a 2-point lead at the end of the 1st quarter. 

Ian McLean had 17 points, Josh Herr, 13 points, and Brody Wagner finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds. 

Jan 17: Gettysburg boys beat Shippensburg on the road 61-46.

Shippensburg won the first contest in December.

The game was tied at halftime 22-22, but the Warriors scored 39 points and shot 13/13 from the free throw line overall to prevail.

Individual contributions included Ian Mclean with 21 points, Josh Herr with 19, and Tegan Kuhns with 10. 

Brody Wagner had 9 points and 11 rebounds.

The boys have won 4 of their last 5 and are 6-4 on the season.

The Panthers shot 56 percent from the free throw line while the Warriors shot 64 percent from the free throw line.

Jan 31: Greencastle 55; Warriors 24

The Blue Devils dominated the game, securing a commanding win with the final score being Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils 55 – Gettysburg Warriors 24. The Blue Devils shot 50% from the floor and were led by high scorer Mim Libby with 22 points. The Warriors struggled, shooting only 33% from the floor and were unable to match the Blue Devils’ scoring. Madeline Delaney was the top scorer for the Warriors with 10 points.

Jan. 28: Waynesboro gets past Gettysburg in OT.

The Gettysburg Warriors faced off against the Waynesboro Little Giants in a hard-fought battle at home last night. Despite a strong effort by the Warriors, the Little Giants ultimately came out on top in overtime, with a final score of 40-37.

The game was close throughout, with the Warriors leading by 4 at the half. The Warriors kept it close until the fourth quarter, where 5 foot 7 Senior Slaydon Fisher hit two 3-pointers to tie the game.

The Warriors were led by high scorers Maddie Delaney (10) and Emma Raville (6), but Fisher, with 22 points made the difference for Waynesboro.

The game was decided in overtime where the Little Giants outscored Gettysburg Warriors 7-4 to secure their win.

Gettysburg fell to New Oxford who were led by 20 points from Timberley Linebaugh.

Jan. 13: Gettysburg Girls Warriors 30; James Buchanan 45

Madeline Delaney had 11 points but Gettysburg fell at James Buchanan who were led by Mackenzie Stoner with 14 and Kaleigh Hartman with 10.

Jan 6: The Gettysburg High School Girls Basketball team lost 16-55 to Greencastle-Antrim at home.

Mackenzie Flickinger led the scoring with 4 points, while Alison Caywood and Madeline Delany contributed 3 each.

Greencastle was powered by 16 points from Mia Libby and 10 from Riley Houson.

Games Summary

January 26: Gettysburg boys’ and girls’ teams were both victorious, as the Warriors swept Lower Dauphin. The boys won, 113-53, and the girls were winners by 94-76. Sam Nelson captured firsts in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Butterfly.

Jan. 24: Warriors sweep Central Dauphin East on Senior Night.

Jan 17: Bishop McDevitt High School won both girls’ and boys’ meets today, but there were some great swims and best times from Gettysburg swimmers.

Final scores:

Girls: Bishop McDevitt 96; Gettysburg 74

Boys: Bishop McDevitt Swimming; Gettysburg 66

First place finishers for Gettysburg were Addy Dunlop, Julia Canadas Salan, Morgan Bishop, Zach Turner, Sam Nelson, Zach Tipton.  

Jan 12: Gettysburg girls and boys swim teams swept Red Land with many strong swims and best times for both teams.  

Girls:  Gettysburg 129; Red Land 39

Boys:  Gettysburg 102; Red Land 68

Jan 9: The girls swim team edged out Palmyra 86-84, while the boys lost 78-92.

Warrior Maya Brainard took the 50-yard freestyle in 27.04 and the 100 yard freestyle in 59.06.

Zach Turner won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.71 and the 100-yard freestyle in 51.39

Morgan Bishop won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:10:49.

Sam Nelson won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03:10

Zack Tipton won the Boys 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06:03

Gettysburg also took the Girls and Boys 200-yard and the Boys 400-yard freestyle relays.
