The Gettysburg Area School District’s (GASD) Seamless Summer Food Service Program will return this summer, providing free breakfast and lunch to children throughout the community.
The program will run Monday through Thursday from June 16 through Aug. 7 at Gettysburg Area Middle School, located at 37 Lefever St., Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Meals are free to all children 18 and younger, as well as GASD-enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21, regardless of household income or school district.
The meal times are in-person lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and grab-n-go breakfast from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. On Thursdays, families will receive two grab-n-go breakfasts to cover Friday and Monday.
“We want every child in our community to have access to healthy, balanced meals during the summer months,” said Nicholas Milone, food service director at GASD. “This program is about more than just food – it’s about ensuring our kids are nourished, supported, and ready to return to school healthy and strong.”
The Seamless Summer Food Service Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to help children maintain proper nutrition when school is not in session.
Parents bringing children or coaches bringing student-athletes are expected to stay with the children to provide supervision.
With a commitment to child nutrition, the mission of the GASD Food Service Department is to offer “a balanced and creative menu program in a clean and welcoming environment” with a focus “on procuring quality ingredients that are cost-efficient and adhere to the standards of the PA School Nutrition Program and USDA.”
Gettysburg Area School District (GASD), in partnership with the family and community, is dedicated to excellence and committed to maximizing every student’s opportunity to reach their full potential for achievement.
