After more than a year of confinement and concerns about spreading COVID-19, the situation seemed more normal as thousands of people came to the Gettysburg Area Rec Park yesterday to celebrate 245 years of United States independence.
On a gorgeous evening, with seasonable weather and low humidity, the rec park provided live music in the amphitheater by local band Schizophonic, a variety of food trucks, and a 20-minute firework display.

There were a lot of smiles, visible now because most people were not wearing masks.
Thanks to the Gettysburg Area Recreational Authority and Destination Gettysburg the Rotary Club of Gettysburg for making it happen.
