Gettysburg College has announced five new initiatives for the 2024-25 academic year, aimed at improving students’ academic and cultural experiences.
The initiatives include a renovation of Paul Recital Hall, which will include the installation of a large convex reflector on the stage to improve sound and communication quality, among other improvements.

The college is also expanding its teacher certification program to include disciplines beyond music education, such as biology, English, mathematics, and social studies.
In addition, new game lights will be installed at Musselman Stadium to enhance the gameday experience for student-athletes. The lights are scheduled to arrive in August, in time for the start of fall athletic teams.
The college is also hosting its first-ever night football game on October 4 against McDaniel College. The game, which is free and open to the public, is expected to draw a large crowd to the stadium.
To address crowd congestion in Servo, large groups of visitors will be relocated to the Atrium. Additionally, a new app will be launched in the fall that will allow students to build their own meals from the daily menu.
These are just a few of the ways that Gettysburg College is preparing for a strong and successful 2024-25 academic year. The new initiatives will aim to enhance the college’s academic and cultural experience for students, creating a vibrant and welcoming campus community for all.
