Gettysburg College will host Corey Harris on the campus on March 27 and 28. Harris will conduct two blues guitar workshops and present a concert at the Gettysburg Majestic Theater.
Harris is an American blues and reggae musician who lives in Charlottesville, Virginia. Along with Keb’ Mo’ and Alvin Youngblood Hart, Harris created acoustic guitar blues in the 1990s. He was featured on the 2003 PBS television mini-series, ”The Blues,” in an episode directed by Martin Scorsese.
Tickets for the concert, to be held at the Gettysburg Majestic Theater on March 28, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., are free, but getting them in advance is recommended. Please call the box office at 717 337 8200 to reserve tickets.
The concert will be followed by an onstage question and answer period.
Harris will also be hosting two Blues Guitar workshop sessions on March 27 7-8:30 pm in the Gettysburg College Junction, and March 28 11:30-1pm in Musselman Library. No guitar or previous experience is needed.
Harris will also perform at Vida Charter School & SpiriTrust Lutheran.
