Bishop McDevitt defeated Gettysburg, 7-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the Warriors’ home field.

Gettysburg collected seven hits but found itself playing from behind from the third inning when McDevitt scored three times. The Warriors responded to Crusader scoring in the third and fourth frames, but Bishop McDevitt effectively put the game away with a two-spot in the fifth. Neither team scored again from that point.

Notable performances included triples by Aubry Forsythe and Kate Keller.  Emmaleigh Gillingham collected two hits on the afternoon, while Abby Boblits and Megan Musselman stole four and three bases, respectively, among the team’s total of 10.

Nina Cerminaro of Bishop McDevitt pitched a complete game, throwing seven innings and 104 pitches, striking out five and walking five.

Spotty defense hindered the Gettysburg effort, as the Warriors committed four early errors. Starting pitcher Danika Kump pitched into the fourth inning, allowing seven runs, only two of which were earned. Emily Haines relieved Kump, needing only 17 pitches over 2.2 innings, 16 strikes of which were strikes, and giving up just one hit.
