The Gettysburg Borough Council will formally accept the resignation of Mayor Chad-Alan Carr at its business meeting Monday.
“We have accepted his resignation as mayor and wish him well as he pursues resolution to his personal legal issues,” Borough Council President Matt Moon said.
Carr, who is also the executive director of the Gettysburg Community Theatre, did not respond to requests for comment. His Facebook page has been removed.
Under borough regulations, Moon will assume the duties of mayor until a replacement is selected.
Moon said council will work to identify a replacement, hopefully within 30 days, but that no decisions have yet been made about the process.
Carr served on borough council since 2022 before being elected mayor last November.
