The Gettysburg Nature Alliance is inviting the community to join us for Rooted in Purpose: Connecting Nature, History & Community on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gettysburg Heritage Center, 297 Steinwehr Avenue.
This special event will bring together local non-profits whose work reflects the shared values of preserving our history, protecting our natural environment, and strengthening our community. Throughout the afternoon, visitors will have the chance to meet representatives from participating organizations, learn about the programs they offer, and discover new ways to connect, volunteer, and get involved. Families and individuals alike will enjoy an afternoon of conversation, exploration, and inspiration, surrounded by others who are working to make a meaningful difference.

“Rooted in Purpose is about connection—between nature and history, between organizations, and between our community and those who serve it,” said Stephanie Lightner, Executive Director of the Gettysburg Nature Alliance. “We believe in supporting our neighbors and celebrating the incredible work that local non-profits are doing.”
The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to stop by and take part in this unique celebration of community. Participating non-profits include, Gettysburg Nature Alliance, Historic Gettysburg Adams County, Land Conservancy of Adams County, Thaddeus Stevens Society, Camp Nawakwa, World War II American Experience, and the Blue Ridge Summit Free Library Board of Directors.
