Gettysburg Pella Donates $5,000 to Support Adams County Farmers Market Initiatives

The leadership team of Pella Corporation presented a generous sponsorship of $5,000 to the Adams County Farmers Market on Thursday, September 4, at their production facility on Proline Place in Straban Township to support the market’s ongoing efforts to provide food assistance resources for lower-income residents of Adams County. Pella Corporation’s sponsorship aligns with Hunger Action Month, a national campaign that takes place every September to raise awareness and inspire action to end hunger in America.

“The Pella Rolscreen Foundation was established to help create brighter futures in the communities where our team members live and work. We are proud to support local causes like the Adams County Farmers Market that do just that,” said Karmen Gardner, Executive Director of the Pella Rolscreen Foundation. Through the Pella Rolscreen Foundation, the Pella site in Gettysburg has contributed to the community via grant allocations to many local organizations.

“We are beyond honored to receive this generous support from Pella,” said Reza Djalal, Market Manager for the Adams County Farmers Market. “I know the many families and senior citizens who benefit from the farmers market’s food programs really appreciate it, too.”

The Adams County Farmers Market is currently on track to administer over $100,000 of food assistance program benefits in 2025. Sponsorship support from organizations like the Pella Corporation helps foster a vibrant community marketplace, support local farmers, and deliver vital food program benefits to lower-income shoppers.

Pella Corporation, which manufactures windows and doors, has 21 manufacturing facilities and 250 showrooms across the country, and employs more than 10,000 people. The company is headquartered in Pella, Iowa, and is celebrating its 100th anniversary, having been founded in 1925.

The Adams County Farmers Market is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization committed to increasing access to fresh food and strengthening the bond between agriculture and the community. The market is open each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through November 1, 2025, at the Gettysburg Rec Park, 545 Long Lane.
