How It Happened…

  • First Half: The Diplomats tested the Bullets early on, but Muhic made some major defensive plays as he turned aside four shots in the opening 20 minutes of action. O’Donnell took what ended up being the only shot on goal at the 25:39 marker, with goalkeeper Sam Altman Farrell making the stop. Gettysburg was unable to get into an offensive rhythm as F&M outshot 11-5, with Huhic tying a season-high five saves in the half to make it scoreless at halftime.
  • Second Half: The Bullets did not waste any time as they scored on their first shot attempt six minutes into the final half. Off the corner kick, O’Donnell found Fife as he tallied the goal for the 1-0 lead. Seven minutes later, Giquinto looked to add another tally, but goalkeeper Altman Farrell stopped the shot. Giquinto fired his second shot on goal with 10 minutes left in regulation, drilling this one into the back of the net to push the Bullets advantage 2-0. The Diplomats pounded three shots with two on goal that Muhic stopped and forced a corner kick in the final four minutes. It wouldn’t be enough as Gettysburg handed the rivals its second loss of the season.

By the Numbers

  • F&M held the 18-9 advantage in shots with Gettysburg holding the 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
