Gettysburg YWCA To Reopen Monday

Tell your friends

The YWCA Gettysburg & Adams County will be reopening on Monday June 15 with health protections in place.

Users will have their temperatures taken upon entry, will be required to wear facial masks while in the lobby and hallways, and must practice social distancing.

Y Wee Care, the free babysitting service for people who exercise in the building, will be operating at 50 percent capacity, one staff person per three children. Parents will be limited to 50-minute time slots so staff will have 10 minutes to sanitize the room between each group.

Lap swimmers will be limited to three per lane and the whirlpool will be limited to four people.

Swim lessons and water fitness classes will begin in July.

Mats and yoga blocks have been removed because the porous material is a health hazard. Members are encouraged to bring their own. A limited number of mats will be for sale at our front desk.

Members must wipe down exercise equipment before and after each use.

Classes must practice social distancing and participants must thoroughly clean equipment after each use.

Class schedules will be posted on https://ywcagettysburg.org when they are available.

The Ragged Edge II coffee shop, located inside the YWCA, will reopen Monday, June 22 with temporary limited hours of 9:00 a.m. to noon.
