The George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital will be open from June 7 to August 11, 2024. Visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center can add it to their itinerary this summer.
The hospital, located in the Gettysburg National Military Park, is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 3:20 p.m. The Pennsylvania Bank Barn style house was meticulously restored and rehabilitated to tell the story of the Civil War. Many of the historical sites in the area are open to visitors, including Civil War living history encampments, artillery demonstrations, skirmishes, mortar fire, and music. Visitors can also learn about the role of civilians during and after the Battle of Gettysburg.
The George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital is a unique experience for visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park. It allows visitors to learn about the history of the Civil War and the role of Pennsylvania civilians and soldiers. The hospital is open for the summer season through August 11, 2024.
