GETY Sharks Dominate Season, Earn Championship Titles

The Gettysburg YMCA Sharks Swim Team is making waves—again.

Celebrating their 40th year in the pool, the GETY Sharks capped off their 2024-2025 winter season with an undefeated record, securing their third consecutive Division 1-A title in the Central Pennsylvania Aquatic League (CPAL). The team, composed of swimmers aged 5 to 18 from across Adams County and surrounding areas, showcased both depth and talent throughout the season.

The CPAL, a 13-team league across south-central Pennsylvania, divides teams into regional divisions. GETY’s division, 1-A, includes tough competitors such as Mechanicsburg, Shippensburg, and Mercersburg. But it was the Sharks who came out on top, demonstrating consistency and teamwork from start to finish.

“We’re so proud of all our swimmers,” said Coach Megan Maslowski. “To go undefeated in this league is a real accomplishment—it reflects their hard work, dedication, and team spirit.”

The Sharks’ success didn’t end there. At the Central Pennsylvania 10 & Under Championships, the team pulled off another major victory—earning the team trophy by an impressive 76-point margin over 14 other teams. Three standout swimmers earned high-point honors for their age groups: Maggie Domzalski (7), Bennett Kluck (8), and Davey Domzalski (9).

The team trains out of the Gettysburg YMCA, drawing swimmers from districts including Bermudian Springs, Fairfield, New Oxford, Upper Adams, and Gettysburg, as well as home-schooled athletes. With a spring and summer season right around the corner, the Sharks are already preparing to build on their momentum.
