A First Friday opening sponsored by Advent Partners is scheduled for Friday, September 7, 5-7:00 p.m. is free and is open to the public.

The work of Pennsylvania artist Gina Robertson is an exploration of the beauty of the everyday around us through color and luminosity. She uses detailed layering of transparent pigments to visually articulate a world of color on canvas.

Gina Lemons

Gina is a painter and retired art educator of forty years who lives in Gettysburg. From a young age, she has been interested in the visual arts. In retirement, she is focused on exploring visual arts expression through painting. Working in her home studio from life and inspirations from her own photography, she creates original acrylic and oil paintings filled with vibrant color and detail.

Sarah Maclay graduated with honors and a degree in Art Education from Shippensburg University and is in her seventeenth year as an Art Educator. Close to Home: Adams County Inspirations is an exhibition demonstrating her ties to both the community and the landscape. Maclay says, “Artistic expression has served as a grounding force in my life.  Moving throughout my childhood—living in Boston, London, Connecticut, and New Orleans—I always seemed to carry with me a sense of wonder, curiosity, and imagination.  I settled in Adams County, Pennsylvania, in 1992 and became increasingly passionate about its rich history, natural beauty, and local sense of purpose—developing my skills as an artist while finding my own role within this vibrant community.”

Bob Prosperi attributes his appreciation for the arts to the liberal education he received from Littlestown High School.   This exhibition, Battlefield Views, is a selection of artwork from Bob’s private collection that encompasses a thirty-year span of collecting and appreciating the skill and artistry of many local artists featured.  He believes this show will demonstrate that one can put together a collection of meaningful and quality artwork without spending a lot of money in the process. Two of his treasured pieces, a meadowlark by Roger Parsels, and a battlefield landscape commission by Freya Qually, mark the commemorative nature of this show.
