Girls’ Basketball: Big Spring outlasts Gettysburg

The Gettysburg Area High School Warriors faced off against the Big Spring High School Bulldogs in a hard-fought game last night. Despite a valiant effort, the Warriors ultimately fell to the Bulldogs, 49-38.

The game was closely contested from the start. The first quarter brought only 13 points across both teams, but the Warriors prevailed in the second, outscoring the Bulldogs 16-13 to take a 23-19 lead at halftime.

The third quarter proved to be a turning point for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Warriors 17-3 to take a 36-26 lead heading into the final quarter. Despite a strong push by the Warriors, who scored 12 points in the fourth quarter, they were unable to close the gap and ultimately fell to the Bulldogs with a final score of 49-38.

High scorer for the Bulldogs was Diana Kepner with 17 points, and for the Warriors, it was Madeline Delaney with 19 points.

It was a tough loss for the Warriors, who currently stand at 1 win and 6 losses on the season. However, the team remains determined and focused on their next game against Waynesboro on Friday.
