The Gleaning Project, a program of South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP), has kicked off Glean-A-Mania 2025, a five-day community event running from August 11–15, 2025 to raise $10,000 each for Franklin Gleaning and Adams Gleaning. The funds will support efforts to rescue fresh produce for seniors, families in need, and partner organizations, while reducing food waste and protecting the environment.
Last year, the Gleaning Project recovered 957,965 pounds of produce and distributed it to feed 13,180 people across Adams and Franklin Counties. Organizers hope to surpass those numbers this year with the help of community donors and volunteers.

Supporters can follow daily photos and progress updates on Facebook and Instagram. Contributions of any amount make an impact, and suggested giving levels include:
· $25 – Seed Sower: Plant the seeds of change
· $50 – Sprout Supporter: Help create sprouts of hope
· $100 – Field Friend: Partner for bounty from the land
· $250 – Bushel Backer: Bring in bushels of produce
· $500 – Plentiful Provider: Ensure abundance reaches those in need
· $1,000 – Harvest Hero: Support and sustain large-scale gleaning
· $2,000 – Feeding Force: Fight for food security
· $5,000 – Crop Champion: Top-level gift with full-circle impact on community nourishment
“Every piece of produce gleaned and every dollar counts,” said event organizers. “Your support ensures fresh, healthy food reaches those who need it most.”
