Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is urging Rite Aid customers to act quickly as the company’s bankruptcy proceedings set a hard deadline for redeeming gift cards, coupons, and rewards. Following Rite Aid’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing on May 5, a court order established June 5 as the final day for consumers to use gift cards, make returns, or redeem store coupons.
Customers will no longer receive BonusCash or rewards points, and any previously earned will expire according to Rite Aid’s standard terms. After the deadline, all unused gift card balances will be rendered worthless and no longer accepted in stores or online.
The Attorney General’s office is encouraging consumers to check their balances and take necessary action before the expiration date. Those facing issues with redeeming their Rite Aid rewards or completing returns are advised to file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection or contact the state’s Consumer Protection Hotline.
