Gettysburg College will host Grammy-nominated artist and performer Valerie June for an on-campus residency March 25-27. During this event she will explore Black country music and the art of cultivating community through a series of workshops, meetings with students, and class collaborations. June will culminate the residency with a public concert at 7:30 p.m. on March 27 at Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater.
Hailed by the New York Times as one of America’s “most intriguing, fully formed new talents,” June is a musician, singer, songwriter, poet, illustrator, actor, certified yoga and mindfulness meditation instructor, and author. Furthermore, June has collaborated and shared the stage with world-renowned artists including Norah Jones, Meshell Ndegeocello, Dave Matthews, Elvis Costello, and Willie Nelson.

She visits as the 2025 featured artist for the Ann McIlhenny Harward Interdisciplinary Program for Culture and Music at Gettysburg College, which is made possible by the Endeavor Foundation and sponsored by Gettysburg College’s Office of the Provost.
Tickets to the public concert on March 27 at the Majestic Theater are free, but reservations are required. Tickets will be available starting Friday, January 24 at 3 p.m. at the Majestic Theater Box Office, 25 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, or by phone at (717) 337-8200.
