Governor Josh Shapiro and First Lady Lori Shapiro stopped in Bucks County on Sunday to visit Peddler’s Village, a charming bookstore village in New Hope.
The stop, which was the seventh and final leg of the Great American Getaway RV tour, was an opportunity to showcase the local attractions and promote the state’s tourism industry.

The village is home to more than 70 unique shops, boutiques, and restaurants, and offers a variety of dining and lodging experiences. It is also a great place to explore the history of the region and learn about the many local historical sites and museums.
During their visit, the Governor and First Lady Shapiro stopped at Mama Hawk’s Kitchen & Coffee to purchase coffee and baked goods, and then visited Sticky Situations, a specialty food tasting room. They also bought a variety of popcorn from Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn.
The visit to Peddler’s Village is part of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office’s efforts to promote the state as a premier weekend getaway destination. The new Great American Getaway brand emphasizes Pennsylvania’s unique attractions and natural resources and aims to attract millions of visitors to the state every year.
The launch of the new brand is accompanied by a proposed $18 million investment in tourism infrastructure. The goal is to generate $76 billion in economic impact and support more than 486,000 jobs a year. The new brand is expected to generate significant economic benefits for the state and help sustain Pennsylvania’s tourism industry.
The Great American Getaway RV tour is an excellent way to experience Pennsylvania’s beauty and culture. It offers a unique perspective on the state’s history and natural resources and allows visitors to discover hidden gems and attractions along the way.
