CARLISE, Pa. Senior Nick Grissinger (Palmyra, Pa./Milton Hershey) collected two wins to lead the Gettysburg College men’s track and field team in the season opener at the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday.

Meet Highlights
- Grissinger had an astonishing outdoor season opener as he led the Bullets with two first-place showings. He posted a 56.93 time in the 400-meter hurdles and a 12′ 0″ mark in the pole vault. Grissinger captured the 400-meter hurdles title at the 2019 Centennial Conference Outdoor Championship.
- In his first time competing in the 1,500-meter run, Hopkins claimed second with a time of 4:06.93.
- Sophomore Eric Liedtka (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) competed in his first 110-meter hurdles and placed third with a 17.24 time.
- Freshman Arthur Keegan (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) took second in the 100-meter dash, clocking 11.59.
- Junior Matt Weller (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished runner-up in his first time competing in the 800-meter run with a 2:02.31 time.
- Junior Charles Norelli (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) ran his fastest outdoor 5,000-meter run, clocking 17:35.78 to take second-place. He sliced his previous outdoor time by over 25 seconds.
- Junior Corey Palazzolo (Colts Neck, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) registered second in the triple jump (39′ 7 ¾”), third in the high jump (5′ 9 ¾”), and in the long jump (20′ 1 ½”).
- Sophomore Eric Liedtka (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) competed in his first 110-meter hurdles and placed third with a 17.24 time.
- Matzke finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run, clocking a personal-record mark of 9:27.83. The mark has now landed him eighth all-time in program history.
- Two relay teams recorded top-three finishes. The 4×100 team of Keegan, sophomore Caden Giordano (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), Palazzolo, and senior Colin Motill (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) took second with a 44:42 time. Grissinger, junior Angus Brouillard (Watertown, Mass./Watertown), Liedtka, and Weller posted a third-place finish with a time of 3:31.88 in the 4×400 relay.
- Gettysburg finished third out of four teams with 146 points. Dickinson won the team title with 256 points.

Gettysburg competes at the Johns Hopkins Invitational next Saturday in Baltimore, Md.
