Healthy Adams County is inviting residents to get moving this spring through its upcoming Adams County Passport to Wellness Program, a monthlong initiative designed to promote physical, mental, and social well-being through free community activities.
The program, organized by the Community Wellness Connections committee under Healthy Adams County, will run throughout the month of March. It is built around the idea that people are more likely to improve their health when they are introduced to a wide variety of fun, accessible opportunities for exercise, recreation and connection.
Organizers say the Passport to Wellness Program is open to all residents and encourages participants to try something new, bring friends along and discover activities they may continue long after the month ends.
A calendar of free events and wellness opportunities will be offered across Adams County, with local organizations and individuals hosting classes and programs throughout March. Participants are asked to register for any activities they wish to attend and to track their involvement using a passport activity log.
Those who complete five or more events during the month will be eligible to enter a prize drawing. To qualify, participants must submit a photo of their completed activity log by April 10. Winners will be selected and notified on April 13.
Healthy Adams County leaders hope the program will inspire residents to explore new ways to stay active and engaged, while also strengthening community connections.
Community Wellness Connections thanked the many local partners who have contributed to the program by providing free classes and wellness opportunities, making it possible for residents of all ages to participate.
The Passport to Wellness Program is part of Healthy Adams County’s broader mission to promote better health outcomes for everyone in the county by creating opportunities that support healthier lifestyles.
