After nearly six decades, Hersheypark has confirmed that its beloved Skyview ride will not return for the 2025 season. The park announced the decision subtly through a Facebook comment on February 22, confirming to fans that the aerial ride is no longer part of its offerings.
“Hello! Skyview is no longer part of our ride offerings beginning in the 2025 season,” Hersheypark stated in response to a commenter. “We are pleased to offer more than 70 rides for guests of all ages.”
Skyview, a classic cable car attraction that provided riders with scenic views of the park, first opened in 1966. Built by U.S. manufacturer Universal Design, it has long been a nostalgic favorite for visitors.
While fans may be disappointed to see Skyview go, excitement is building for Hersheypark’s newest attraction, Twizzlers Twisted Gravity. Set to debut this summer, the high-speed ride will soar over 130 feet and reach speeds of 68 miles per hour, adding another thrill to the park’s lineup. Some have theorized that the Twizzler ride’s proximity to the Skyview may have hastened the venerable ride’s departure.
