Honoring and Reflecting: Biglerville’s Memorial Day Ceremony

Biglerville’s Memorial Day observance was held yesterday at 3:00 p.m. in the Biglerville Cemetery, located across from Biglerville High School. The event was organized by the Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 and led by Commander Rick Pelc.

The program featured patriotic songs with audience participation, along with musical performances by The M&M’s, a group within the Apple Core Band. Two sixth-grade students from Upper Adams Intermediate School contributed meaningful recitations: Ana Ugalde-Diaz delivered the Gettysburg Address, while Willow Hay recited In Flanders Fields.

Pastor John Weber served as the guest speaker, offering a message drawn from the Old Testament focused on themes of repentance and remembrance.

Special thanks were extended to the American Legion, sixth-grade teacher Mrs. McCleaf, and all who came together to honor, reflect, and remember the U.S. military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
