Healthy Adams County, in collaboration with grief counselor David Mitchell, is proud to introduce a new initiative to support mental health within the community. This holiday season, the program “Hope for the Holidays” offers a free grief support series designed to help individuals navigate the emotional challenges that often arise during this time of year.
The program consists of three sessions, each tailored to provide insights, coping strategies, and a sense of community for those dealing with loss. While participants are encouraged to attend all three for a holistic experience, each session stands alone and offers unique benefits.

The first session, The Challenges of Holiday Grieving, takes place on Monday, December 16th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. It focuses on acknowledging the difficulties of facing the holidays while grieving. The second session, Taking Care of Ourselves During the Holidays, scheduled for Monday, December 23rd, provides tools for self-care amidst seasonal stress. Finally, Hope for the New Year, held on Monday, December 30th, explores finding optimism and setting intentions for the year ahead.
All sessions will be held at the Brighter Tomorrows Center, 224 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA. While limited parking is available behind the building, street parking is recommended.
