The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has had a significant impact on the healthcare sector, with out-of-pocket costs for those with Medicare Part B and D capped at $35 per month.
According to a new fact sheet released by the office of Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), the IRA has also led to hundreds of dollars in savings for 346,000 Pennsylvanians who purchase health insurance through the marketplace.
Furthermore, the fact sheet details provisions in the legislation that are yet to be implemented, such as the creation of a Medicare negotiation policy to enable the agency to negotiate for fair drug prices. This provision is expected to lower costs for hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians in the coming years.
The impact of the IRA on healthcare costs in Pennsylvania is evident in the fact that 80,200 Pennsylvanians who rely on insulin to manage their diabetes can now afford the medication they need at most $35 per month. Further, 346,000 Pennsylvanians are paying hundreds of dollars less for healthcare marketplace premiums, according to the new fact sheet.
