“Inside Out” Outdoes All Other Animated Openings

Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” has made history by becoming the fastest animated film to surpass $1 billion in revenue, reaching $1.014 billion in just 19 days. This breaks the previous record set by “Frozen 2,” which took 25 days. Directed by Kelsey Mann, “Inside Out 2” is the first film of 2024 to achieve this milestone and is now the fifth highest-grossing animated film in North America with a domestic total of $469.3 million.
Internationally, the film has amassed $545.5 million across 45 markets, becoming the 18th highest-grossing animated release globally. It surpassed notable films like “Shrek Forever After,” “Madagascar 3,” and “Finding Dory.” The film held strong in markets such as China, Australia, Spain, and the UK. Its top-performing markets include Mexico, the UK, Korea, Brazil, and Italy. The film also achieved record-breaking status in Latin America and several other regions, solidifying its place as a major box office success.
