The faculty of the Intermuse Music Institute and Festival will perform the next Music, Gettysburg! concert on July 7 at 4:00 pm. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the United Lutheran Seminary Chapel at 147 Seminary Ridge, Gettysburg.
The IMIF Faculty Showcase will feature works for violin, viola, cello, trumpet and piano, by Frederic Chopin,Franz Schubert, Paul Dukas, and Buxton Orr and contemporary programmatic compositions by Ennio Morriconne and Elizabeth Borowsky. Featured performers include Audrey Andrist (piano), Steven Bailey (trumpet), Cecylia Barczyk(cello), Emmanuel Borowsky (violin), Frances Borowsky ( cello), Elizabeth Borowsky (piano), Sharon Eng (viola), Kara Iwanowski (piano), Andrew Rosenfeld (tenor), James Stern (violin). The program will celebrate Dr. Charles H. Borowsky, the founder of the IMIF, for his outstanding life-long contributions to society and culture
This program is suitable for listeners of all ages and musical tastes.
Founded in 2003 by the York Springs based Borowsky Family, the Intermuse Music Institute and Festival has been lauded as an exceptional summer solo and chamber music program for string players and pianists. <u+200b>With a limited enrollment (20 students for 2018) The IMIF offers a uniquely individual approach that is both challenging and supportive.The interdisciplinary curriculum has been crafted to give young musicians an array of experiences that will elevate musicianship and artistic confidence.Past participants have credited their IIMIF with technical, musical, and personal growth that has extended into their studies and careers. Students receive expert advice from renowned performers including Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Jonathan Carney and acclaimed pianist Brian Ganz.
