Legendary actor James Earl Jones, whose resonant voice brought life to iconic characters like Darth Vader in *Star Wars* and Mufasa in *The Lion King*, passed away yesterday at his home in Pawling, New York. He was 93. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Jones’ career spanned over seven decades, earning him a rare EGOT status—winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar (honorary), and Tony awards. He was one of only 27 performers to achieve this feat. Born in Mississippi in 1931, Jones overcame a childhood stutter to become one of the most celebrated voices in entertainment history.

After serving in the Korean War, Jones made his Broadway debut in 1958, followed by his film debut in 1964’s *Dr. Strangelove*. His commanding presence and powerful voice led to over 80 film roles, including memorable performances as King Jaffe Joffer in *Coming to America* and Terence Mann in *Field of Dreams*.
