Janet M. Brady, 75, of Hanover, died peacefully Oct. 1, 2026, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1951, in Hanover to the late Mark A. and Mary M. (Stevens) Kuhn. Brady was a 1969 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown.
She retired from Clarks Americas after earlier jobs at Kmart and Turkey Hill. Her family remembered her as an avid reader who enjoyed watching Westerns, especially “Gunsmoke.” Brady also sang with the Village Singers, a group that performed at local assisted-living facilities, and enjoyed dancing when she was younger.
Survivors include daughters Amanda L. Yingling and Melissa A. Brady, both of Hanover; granddaughter Haley Wark and great-granddaughter Carley Bullock, both of Harrisburg; siblings Mark J. Kuhn of Carlisle, Robert L. Kuhn, George F. Kuhn and Leona L. Kaiser, all of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Elissa “Pookie” Snedeker, brother Edgar S. Kuhn and sister-in-law Diane Kuhn.
Visitation and a brief memorial service are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home in McSherrystown.
