John E. Smith, age 80, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born September 11, 1939 in Concord, PA, the son of the late Wayne O. and Helen M. (Goshorn) Smith. 

John retired from PAB Trusses after working as a sawyer for 18 years. He was a member of Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene and was a Shippensburg Social Member of the VFW. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting and mowing grass for the church. 

John is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Dianna K. (Luttrell) Smith of Shippensburg; children, Natalie Cook of Dillsburg and Wayne E. Smith of Shippensburg; one step-daughter; four step-sons; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Smith (Karen) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Janet Burdge. 

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Celebration of Life Services will be announced at a later date.

CJ Jamarillo

CJ is an intern at the Connection and a Senior at Gettysburg College. CJ played football and lacrosse in high school and and plays on the Bullets football team. He has worked as a scorer and social media representative for the Gettysburg College Athletics Communications Department, CJ is an Active Brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he served as rush chair and house manager.
