The Gettysburg Times reported yesterday that long-time Gettysburg Resident John Rice will be running for the vacant Ward 2 seat in the Gettysburg Borough Council.
Rice will run as a Democrat.
Rice has many years of organizational and administrative experience in the local fruit growing industry.
He has also been a supporter of the Gettysburg Community and currently serves as a member of the borough planning commission.
Rice graduated from Gettysburg Area High School in 1969.
He serves on the board of the Knouse Foods Cooperative.
Rice supports the Main Street Gettysburg projects and wants to make Gettysburg more business-friendly.
Harry Stokes will be running for the at-large borough council seat.
