The 21st Annual Adams County Juried Art Exhibition opened Saturday at a new venue: the Wolf House at United Lutheran Seminary. The highly competitive show, which runs through June 28, features 50 works selected from over 330 submissions by 120 artists from across the region and beyond.
Juror Ann Tarantino, a nationally recognized artist known for her explorations of spatial relationships, selected the entries through a blind judging process. The show was curated by Wendy Hieges and Deb Westmoreland. Chris Lauer was the show’s preparator.

“This was a perfect space for the juror we had this year,” said ACAC Executive Officer Lisa Cadigan. “Ann categorized the show in terms of different ways to use space, and we tried to group the works accordingly in the rooms. It’s a really cool space to explore.”
The shift in venue from Gettysburg College allowed a fresh experience. The space has high ceilings and bright windows. “People were pleasantly surprised,” said Cadigan.
Artists came from as far as New York, Maryland, and West Virginia, though many local creators were also featured. “We send all the entries to the juror completely anonymously,” said Cadigan. “She didn’t know names or locations — and a large percentage of those chosen are from this area. It speaks to the strength of our local talent.”
