Kathleen “Kathy” Glahn was recognized and thanked for over 15 years of service to the Adams County Farmers Market during the organization’s Annual Meeting on March 13, held at Battlefield Bed and Breakfast.
Glahn, a founding member of the farmers market, has been a volunteer board member and officer of the organization since 2008.

Glahn’s positive vision for the farmers market, her successful efforts to implement food assistance programs, and her ability to cultivate strong community partnerships were cited as some of her major accomplishments.
“I’m inspired by the work Kathy has put in over the years,” said Market Manager Reza Djalal during his opening remarks. “We here in Gettysburg have one of the best markets in the region, and that is largely due to her efforts.”
In addition to serving on the board of directors for the Adams County Farmers Market, Glahn also serves on the board of the Gettysburg Hospital Foundation and is also the owner/operator of Wild Juniper Farm. Glahn is also a past board member of the Farmers Market Coalition.
During the Annual Meeting, Glahn was succeeded as ACFM board chair by Scott Woods, owner of Maggie’s Farm Gettysburg. Woods came from an extensive career in hospitality and restaurant management before launching his startup farm business. “Kathy has been a wonderful leader,” said Woods. “I will be relying on her wisdom and friendship to help keep our market moving forward.”
Glahn will remain on the farmers market board as immediate past Chair for one additional year.
Other business covered during the organization’s Annual Meeting included the approval of updated bylaws, an overview of financial information, and a presentation by the market’s Food Programs Coordinator, Claudia Aguilar.
The market’s Annual Meeting was sponsored in part by Cottage Creperie, Lark – a Modern Marketplace, and LocaFlora Design.
