KFC is planning a major menu overhaul

KFC is preparing one of the biggest changes in its history, rolling out a revamped menu that emphasizes boneless chicken, expanded sauce options and a new line of specialty beverages.

The fast-food chain announced a global overhaul centered on what it calls “Dipped, Dunked and Kwenched.” The strategy reflects growing consumer demand for chicken products and customizable flavors.

A key part of the update is a renewed focus on chicken tenders and other boneless offerings seasoned with KFC’s signature blend of 11 herbs and spices. The company is also introducing a “global pantry” featuring more than 20 sauces inspired by flavors from around the world. Among the varieties are Chimichurri Ranch and Hot Honey Habanero.

KFC plans to expand its “Dunked” menu concept, in which tenders, wings and sandwiches are coated in sauces rather than served with dipping cups. Similar items are already available in countries including South Africa and India, with wider expansion planned.

The chain is also investing in beverages through a new platform called Kwench by KFC. The lineup includes boba refreshers, milkshakes, sparkling lemonades and iced coffees. The drinks are currently offered in selected restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland and are scheduled for permanent menus in Canada and Australia later this year.

The menu changes come as chicken remains one of the fastest-growing segments in the fast-food industry. KFC says the first phase of the overhaul will include new chicken tenders and nine sauces. Restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland are receiving the latest items this month, with U.S. and Australian locations expected to follow in the coming weeks.

The company is also rethinking its restaurant design. KFC plans to open a new environmentally focused prototype location in McKinney, Texas, later this summer, followed by a two-story interactive restaurant in Dubai this fall.
