
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior Alex Leder (Bethesda. Md./Bullis) scored a career-high 25 points to lift Gettysburg College (8-3, 2-2 CC) past McDaniel College (4-7, 0-4 CC) 63-52 in Centennial Conference men’s basketball action Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened…
- First Half
- The first half produced nine lead changes between Gettysburg and McDaniel with the largest advantage coming at five-points midway through the stanza. The Green Terror grabbed a 15-10 edge with a 6-0 run that was started by Caleb Johnson hitting a jumper. Back-to-back three-pointers by Antolini with under six to go gave the Bullets a two-point lead, 18-16. A free throw by Caleb Johnson and a lay-up by Josh Arruda lifted the hosts back on top by one. Gettysburg collected the edge on the next possession off a trey by Leder, but a lay-up by Arruda tied the game at 21-all. Leder scored six of Gettysburg’s eight points in the last 3:29 to help the Bullets hold a 29-28 lead at the half.
- Second Half
- A 7-2 run in the opening five minutes provided McDaniel a five-point lead. After that, Gettysburg regained the lead by rattling an 8-0 run over the next four minutes to make it 39-35. A pair of made free throws by Sam Beverly cut the deficit down to two (39-37), but that was as close at McDaniel saw the rest of the way. A lay-up by senior Danny Duffey (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) brought Gettysburg to its largest advantage of the game at 15 (56-41) with 4:33 showing. The Orange and Blue shoot a stellar 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from the floor in the final half.
