The Gettysburg Borough Public Works Department will be rebuilding Legion Alley from Baltimore Street to South Washington Street and Gilliland Alley from Water Street to Racehorse Alley between June 24th and July 2nd.
The pavement surface will be milled down 8 inches to remove the old pavement in both alleys. This will make the alleys impassible to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Accordingly, both alleys will be closed until new pavement is installed.
The Borough will be coordinating refuse and recycling collection while construction is underway as waste haulers will not have access during these alley closures.
The Borough will accommodate parking arrangements for residents and businesses on streets nearby during construction.
