Lieutenant John Wega, a dedicated law enforcement professional with over 11 years of service at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, is proud to announce his candidacy for Sheriff of Adams County. With a proven track record of leadership and a deep commitment to the community, Wega aims to continue serving and protecting the residents of Adams County in this important role.
A career law enforcement officer, Wega has served under retiring Sheriff Muller in various capacities, starting as a Deputy and working his way up through the ranks to Corporal, Sergeant, and currently as Operations Lieutenant. With a diverse background in law enforcement operations, Wega has developed a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges facing the department and the community.

Lieutenant Wega is also an alumnus of the United States Coast Guard Academy and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a B.S. degree in Biology. He is a 2014 graduate of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency Sheriff Academy and is a certified Pennsylvania Deputy Sheriff.
“My experience in Adams County and my dedication to public service have prepared me to lead the Sheriff’s Office with integrity, transparency, and a focus on safety,” Wega said. “As Sheriff, I will build on the great work of Sheriff Muller and continue to foster strong relationships within our community, ensure the safety of our residents, and improve law enforcement training and resources.”
Lieutenant Wega is committed to enhancing public safety, supporting local law enforcement personnel, and building stronger community partnerships to address the growing needs of Adams County.
