Littlestown’s softball team broke open a 2-0 game with three runs in the fifth inning and a seven spot in the sixth, sending everyone home an inning early in a 12-0 whitewashing of Gettysburg Friday afternoon on the Warriors’ home field.
Littlestown started with a run in the first inning, then added another in the third inning.
Chelsey Stonesifer played a huge role in Littlestown’s success, going four-for-four with four runs scored, three stolen bases, and a triple. Isabella Olvera and Libby Brown also contributed to the team’s offensive prowess, with Olvera hitting a double and Brown notching a double and two RBIs. Emma Peart added two more RBIs. Littlestown’s aggressive base running was evident, with a total of nine stolen bases.
Stonesifer also starred on the pitching rubber for the Thunderbolts, allowing only one hit – a single by Samantha Carbaugh – while walking only one and striking out nine.
Gettysburg also had a tough day in the field, committing a devastating total of 10 errors. Carbaugh, Emily Haines, and Megan Musselman took turns on the mound for the Warriors.
