Littlestown hosts second Annual Family Fun Fair and Backpack Giveaway

Families filled Crouse Park in Littlestown this morning for the second annual Family Fun Fair, held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The free event began with registration, where children received backpacks stocked with school supplies, snacks, and gently used books.

Organizers reported that Convey of Hope donated 28,000 pounds of food for the event. Each child was given a grocery bag and allowed to choose snacks and drinks.

Throughout the day, kids enjoyed a wide range of activities, including a petting zoo, inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, face painting, balloon art, games, bubbles, and live music. Cotton candy, popcorn, and freeze pops kept the energy high, while parents relaxed with complimentary Starbucks coffee and tea.

Littlestown police officers were on hand to interact with families, giving children the chance to handle police gear and explore police vehicles. A dunk tank—featuring Principal Joel Moran as a good-natured participant—raised donations to help pay off student lunch debt. At 12:30 p.m., raffle winners took home gift cards to local family destinations such as Menchey Music and Ninja Logic. Lunch, including hot dogs, chips, and water, was served free of charge.

Organizer Katherine Funk reflected on the day’s success, saying, “It was great seeing the joy people experienced both serving and receiving from the event. We can make a meaningful impact—for some, it is like gold.”

The Family Fun Fair was made possible through the efforts of numerous volunteers from local churches and organizations, along with support from Proffer Ministries, Convoy of Hope, Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread, Graceful Harvest, and many others. Together, they created a memorable day of fun, generosity, and community spirit in Littlestown.
