The Sept. 15 borough meeting with the mayor has been cancelled and replaced with a community listening session scheduled for Monday, Sept. 22, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the community room of the Borough building, located at 43 S. Columbus Ave.
Mayor Jennifer A. Beskid announced the change, noting a desire to shift the focus toward community voices, particularly young people. The borough applies annually for Community Development Block Grant funding, which can be used to support local initiatives, and the mayor said the meeting will help guide how those resources might be directed.
“I am concerned about the limited resources for our youth,” the mayor said in a statement, adding that hearing directly from young residents is a priority. The session will especially encourage participation from youth ages 10 to 17, though community members of all ages are welcome to attend.
The meeting aims to provide a platform for local youth to share ideas about improving Littlestown, from recreational opportunities to community spaces. Borough officials said input from young people will help shape potential projects that could be supported through grant funding.
